After a long streak of senior sessions, this extended family session was such a refreshing change of pace and honestly, one of my favorite reminders of why I love family photography so much. Spring sessions always have a special kind of magic, but when you add three generations together? It becomes something truly meaningful.
There’s just something so beautiful about documenting the connections between grandparents, parents, and grandchildren all in one frame. The laughs, the chaos, the sweet in-between moments, and the way everyone naturally falls into their role within the family, those are the moments I love capturing most.
Spring is one of my favorite seasons for family sessions here in Lake County. Everything feels soft, fresh, and full of life. The blooming trees, golden evening light, and warmer weather create the perfect backdrop for playful, relaxed photos that don’t feel overly posed. Kids can run, grandparents can snuggle babies, and everyone gets to simply enjoy being together.
As much as I adore my senior sessions, family sessions like this fill my heart in a completely different way. They remind me how important it is to preserve the people we love exactly as they are right now. These images become part of a family’s story, the kind that gets passed down for generations.
To this sweet family: thank you for letting me spend the evening with you and capture your beautiful crew. Sessions like this are the reason I do what I do. 💛
