A Chilly Yet Charming Senior Session in Texas

During my trip to Texas to visit Jordan, I had the opportunity to capture a beautiful senior session—my second shoot of the trip. The weather, however, had other plans. With temperatures hovering at a brisk 47 degrees and a constant mist hanging in the air, it was far from the warm Texas sunshine we had hoped for. But despite the less-than-ideal conditions, Tala embraced the moment, and her session turned out absolutely stunning.


A Historic Backdrop

For her session, Tala chose a gorgeous historic house as the setting. The character and charm of the location added a timeless, elegant feel to her photos. From intricate architectural details to grand porches and vintage-inspired textures, every corner of the property provided a perfect backdrop for her senior portraits.


The misty air added a dreamy softness to the images, creating an ethereal, almost cinematic atmosphere. Instead of fighting the weather, we leaned into it, using the cool tones and diffused light to craft a unique and moody aesthetic.


Tala’s Timeless Style

Tala’s outfit choices perfectly complemented the historic setting. Soft, neutral tones and flowy fabrics played beautifully against the vintage charm of the house. She carried herself with such grace and confidence, making it easy to capture her natural beauty and personality despite the chilly weather. Tala was an absolute trooper. Her resilience and easygoing attitude made the session not only successful but also a lot of fun.

This session was a reminder that sometimes, the most unexpected conditions lead to the most breathtaking results. The cool mist gave the images a romantic, almost storybook-like quality that we couldn’t have planned for. It’s proof that with the right mindset and a little creativity, every session can be something special—rain or shine.
